Neustar UltraDNS Customer Service Advisory - BIND

Dear UltraDNS Customer,

On Tuesday evening (July 28th) a critical vulnerability within the Berkeley Internet Name Domain Server (BIND) software was publicly identified by the United States Government's US-CERT.

Neustar UltraDNS's core infrastructure utilizes our own proprietary DNS software and technology and is NOT vulnerable in this way. For your information, the UltraDNS nameservers have never been the subject of a CERT advisory of any kind.

Given the critical nature of DNS and the severity of this vulnerability, if your organization is using the BIND software, Neustar urges you to direct your technical staff to visit the US Government's US-CERT website at http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/725188 where the problem is documented, and remediation steps are identified.
